Google Spotting

I’m a bit ashamed to admit I can’t identify this car that was captured on the road by the Google Street View camera. The lines of the rear fender seem Italian to me, but the right-hand drive suggests British. Maybe a Morgan? Do you know this one? Drop some knowledge in the comments.

Unfortunately, whoever found it didn’t include a link. 9-eyes via Kottke.

I’ve seen this picture a couple of times and have wondered my self what the car is. As a Morgan fanatic I can definitely say its not a Morgan of any kind. Could it be an Allard?

It is 0176ED, a 225S Ferrari, one of Vignale’s rare missteps, styling-wise. Easily in the top 10, possibly top 5 ugliest Ferraris of all-time.

I think this google shot might have been taken during the Mille Miglia…If not then shame on me.
Here is a link to a better shot of the car and it’s occupants. There should be a couple more shots on this linked site

Cris IDs the car correctly–it was originally raced in 1952 by the Marzotto Bros. in Italy. I rather like its looks though it was definitely retro for the time. MJ

I was in error referring to Marzotto–the car was racesd originally by Stagnoli, though also driven by many others in period, including Bracco and Castellotti. MJ
